Engineering concerns that how you approach towards any problem,how your processes can give the ultimate solution/outcome, which is based on logical approach, creative approach, your skills and your perception. Different engineering has different aspect of perception regarding the individual approach towards the problem. Civil engineering is the most challenging. The structure can be seen anywhere, anytime in our practical life & each time it is appreciated. Civil engineering is the time variant. It will go up to the final development
of the civilization. Since from beginning it says about our civilization. We often use "Rome was not built in a day", why there is the need of saying this again & again. Now we are in the cut throat edge of technology,still we are learning from the past technical feature.Previously we didn't have any written materials, documents(presently we have different codes),but we created by ourselves ,we used the natural resources,interacted with the environment, faced the problem, accepted the challenges,created the style for the coming generation.From the very beginning we explored the mountain for living purposes but it was not safe, we protected ourselves by using resources available but it was not enough.How did we cope up further? Thinking decides our attitude.Attitude gives the way to approach.If our approach is right we succeed, if it is wrong, fails. But that time it wouldn't be considered as failure, it could be assigned as we are trying for the better life for our generation.Today the world infrastructure says, on what limit we have reached by using our technology. Civil engineers really perform so nicely that’s why we are living in the beautiful world. High-rise buildings sometime give us fear but some time we astonish that which one is behind the straightness/stability of these buildings. Time factors always explain how they are patient towards these structures. Behind the entire end, we reach to logical end, technical aspect. With the help of different codes (like US, British, Japanese, Indian codes etc.), we decide how we can go for further design aspect, material aspect, safety analysis and life of the structure. The very basic of civil engineering starts from soil exploration and ends to superstructure. All projects in civil engineering are based on long duration, required more and more time for project execution, and required more and more technical expertise and manpower.Lot of structures dam, bridges, canal system, reactors, expressway, highway, high-rise building etc. always excites our senses. We always need the perfection. Still we are not in the position to say that structure is 100 percent safe, because we don’t know the variant. It is flexible type. For Ex: we don’t know the climatic condition, we use all technical factors for resisting regarding the climatic behavior. What will be the nature of environment after one day, we are not exactly sure. As concrete of structure is very susceptible to the environment interaction, so there is always need to protect our structure or the major portion concrete and reinforcement. Codes give the guidance regarding this protection. In Indian context: India is exploring itself in real-estate industry. Coming year is the main revenue generation by this industry. As India is developing nation so it is not infrastructurally sound.Many MNCs are approaching,investing money in this industry for better life and better future of coming generation.We don’t have many patents because we are lacking in research.We know that if any structure fails in developed nation, it is analyzed from very basics. If you analyze something certainly you will get conclusion and further you will enhance those feedbacks, so we will have to learn from our failure it will improve our strength and it will give safe structure. Many institutes are doing their research jobs like IISC, TIRF,IITs etc. and improving the life of our people. There are many facts regarding Civil Engineering .It is bound less and it never ends by elaborating only by above context. But certainly will help to people how Civil Engineers are helpful for the common. It decides (Civil Engineering) the development of any nation: It says about the infrastructure (Building systems, Drainage systems, Road systems, Railway systems Airport systems,Dock and Harbor systems, Tunneling systems, Canal systems, Irrigation system, etc). For understanding the Civil Engineering, infrastructure of nation should be emphasized and analyzed in sequential manner.Developed nationlike US,Russia, England, France,Japan,Germany always encourage our approach towards the development with the help of Civil Engineering context.Presently going project involves many construction giant like Japan, Malaysia, Indian construction giant L&T, Gammon, HCC etc.for executing the major projects which will make our life faster and faster. Exploration and innovative ideas in engineering can’t be stopped.
It will go on and as the time will pass we will get more and more
comfortable and beautiful life.
Many earthquake disater as my country has seen in the past but most devastating was BHUJ EARTHQUAKE which explored the flaws in construction procedure as well as the design.A lot of loss of human being as well as economy.Most portion of our country is in earthquake prone region, almost 60% so very vast area for the civil engineers where they can put there technical resposibility for making & saving India as well as the world. | ||
