Help Save my daughter’s life
For reason of safety I will not use my daughter’s real name
I will call her Humming Bird for this page. Humming Bird is a very happy go lucky 4 years old. So full of life and love.
While in a Muslim country to start a clinic for women, I found myself being locked in a room and my passport confiscated. I was kept captive under armed guards for 18 months. I never saw sunlight. And because I refused to marry the man holding me captive, I was beaten often, my head bashed onto the floor or walls. I was also repeatedly raped. After I became pregnant with my daughter, he poisoned me. I watched other Muslim women and young girls being beaten and forced into marriages at very young ages (a young girl killed for bringing shame to her family because she was apparently became pregnant before she married the man her family promised her to)
Since the poisonings didn’t cause me to miscarry my daughter. My unborn daughter was placed on the “marriage auction block”. I found out through the elderly woman, who was the only one allowed to see me, that men were bringing their sons and their money “auctioning to the highest bidder” the promise of my unborn daughter in marriage to the winning “bidder’s” son.
The elderly woman explained to me that the highest bidder was the father of a 24 year old man. After 18 months of being held and beaten, I had all but given up hope of getting out of that nightmarish place. But by the grace of God, a Christian holiday happen along. Fear that trouble could arise with the Christian community, all police officers and guards were stationed all of the churches. My captor asked the elderly woman to sit with me while they were all away.
This woman took me out of the house and to the nearest embassy where I was placed into protective custody. It took 2 weeks for the embassy to get me out of the country safely.
Humming Bird was born in my home state. I thought life would finally become normal and safe. I only had 1 living relative that I knew of at the time, and that was my brother.
But a few days after I gave birth, I found myself with the worse head ache of my life. I was rushed to the hospital to find I had had a massive stroke. I had to be transported to a larger hospital where I remained for nearly a month.
Later the doctor said the bleeding on my brain was so bad the only thing they could do was give me strong amounts of morphine. They considered me terminal. Against all odds, I lived.
I had to survive, I had my daughter and her brothers to think about. For the longest time I felt safe, thinking there would be no possible way for my daughter’s sire (for lack of a better term) to find her.
The feeling of being safe was shattered when my brother for whatever reasons decided to give my daughter’s address to the man who beaten/raped/poisoned me. My brother KNEW all along how dangerous this man can be, and what WILL happen if he ever found Humming Bird.
This man writes often, making threats of having Humming Bird kidnapped and brought to his country. He keeps reminding me he has to have Humming Bird with him because he had already “sold” her and received the money agreed on for the promised marriage.
I located another unknown relative, who offered me a place to stay with Humming Bird and her brothers. There we all would be safe. Humming Bird’s brothers have been collecting cans to help raise money for travel expenses.
I am a single mother and I receive a small disability check because of my stroke. It will cost nearly $15,000 USD to be able to relocate to my relative’s home without taking anything with us, just the clothes on our backs and the I.D.s required. In the new location, no one knows me, and MY DAUGHTER WILL BE SAFE.
I am asking for anyone who reads this, if they can, send money (even if just one dollar) to a PayPal account. Any email inquires are welcome, however, to keep my children safe, AT NO TIME will I send the children’s pictures.
The PayPal and email account are the same hummingbirdhelp@yahoo.com
I want to thank ahead of time anyone who helps me raise the funds. You have my profound and deepest “Thanks”.
